Climate

Taking into account the enormous size of Brazil, it is normal to find a variety of climates depending on the region we are in.
Every BrazilSouth destination is in the southern hemisphere, from Foz do Iguazu (the hottest city on route) to Porto Alegre and the gaucha mountain range region (the most southern area and therefore the coldest).
Temperatures vary according to the location of each place although during the summer (December to February) the average temperatures range from 18 to 32 degrees centigrade in the daytime and 10 to 25 degrees at night.
Clothing and accessories
We recommend comfortable clothing, easy to put on, take off and carry (foreseeing sudden temperature changes) and garments that allow for easy movement.
Some accessories necessary in order to enjoy all the possibilities offered on this trip would be: sports shoes, hiking shoes or boots (to walk on dirt tracks), raincoat, swimsuit, sun cream and insect repellent.
Vaccinations
As opposed to other regions in Brazil, the southern area does not require any special precautions in this sense. Nevertheless, we do recommend that you consult with your local health authorities to obtain updated information on the subject.
Visa / Passport
European Union travellers may enter and leave the country freely with a valid passport and an expiry date over 6 months.
For other countries, we recommend that you visit the Brazilian Government’s web page where contact details for your local Brazilian Embassy can be found. +info.
Money and exchange

The Brazilian currency is the Real (R$). Notes can be exchanged in banks, travel agencies and authorised hotels. Both traveller’s checks and cash can be easily exchanged in these establishments. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, stores, travel agencies, car hires and other establishment offering tourist services.
For more information on the current exchange rate of the Brazilian Real and your local currency, we recommend you visit the following web page: + info.
